7 Jan 2014 - Version 1.2 released
-Occasional double updates could happen
-Cheap dye did not render hair colors for eyebrows, beard, bodyhair according to age (was only a bit off)
-Adult to elder birthday did update sims but not trigger a visual refresh. There is still a significant delay
-Workout fatigue walkstyle only if mod is switched on for sim
-Stricter gating in several parts of the mod.
-Grey mixer uses a slightly lower saturation to avoid pink-ish and orange-ish tones in the greying process (red-ish tones like chestnut and ginger hair colors looked unnatural)
-Target color for greying hair is a slightly warmer grey instead of computer grey to avoid blueish appearance of grey hair streaks. I'm using RGB 195,185,185 instead of 190,190,190.
27 Dec 2013 - Version 1.1 released Glitches fixed:
-Recoded procedure of applying hair colors to Sims.
The mod will now play nice with different hairdos for different outfits and outfit indexes (Everyday1, Everyday2 and such)
Thanks Datch for the bug report.
-Performance tweaking: The mod does not re-apply age weathering if it believes it was already applied. Elders beyond whitepoint only have their hair color updated every 4th day.
-Mod now works on aliens (request by MeiXin, thanks). I hope that works without trouble.
23 Dec 2013 - Version 1 released
What this mod does
This mod updates adults and elders every night to simulate an ageing process.
You are free to run the mod on everyone or just selected Sims.
-Sims gradually get gray hair
-Sims get wrinkles and stuff (age weathering) according to their age
-Some walkstyle adjustments (young elders are more agile)
-Sims have the option to dye their hair if they are unhappy with their greying hair
Activating the mod
The mod is not active by default.
Every adult and elder has a ConsortAge sim-menu where you can activate the mod.
Uninstalling the mod
Please use the !CLEAN UP option before you delete the mod.
Also disable the Mod before you copy Sims to the sim bin.
If everything goes wrong, the mod offers cheat command that tries to undo changes.
Enable Mod for $Name
Updates the Sim according to her age and adds him to the list of nightly updates
Disable Mod for $Name
Updates the Sim with cached values to undo changes.
Enable mod for all Sims in Town
Cycles through all relevant Sims and applies Age features.
The mod will now run nightly updates on ALL new found adults and elders unless you specifically have disabled the mod for them.
!CLEAN UP (Undo Mod for all Sims in Town)
Cycles through all relevant Sims currently present in your town and restores non-modded values for them.
Turns off nightly updates
This is how you can find out if the mod is active for a specific Sim plus some mod related stuff.
Dye Grey Hair (cheap)
Dye Grey Hair (expensive)
-Not available for active Sims. Please use any mirror or spa.
-Only available if the Mod is on for the specific sim
Force dyes the townie's hair to make them look younger
Some Sims feel too young to have grey hair. Luckily modern chemistry offers amazing solutions:
Dye Grey Hair Cheap (ยง29.98)
Available with every Mirror
Your Sim will apply Grey-Gon-Goo(tm) to their face hair.
Grey-Gon-Goo(tm) Landgraab Industries(tm) latest and bestest hair-encancement product. Absolutely nothing can go wrong.
However, page 42 of the Grey-Gon-Goo(tm) End User License Agreement (included in the box) states that "user experience may vary."
Grey-Gon-Goo should not be applied near eyes, mouth or pubic areas and must be kept out of reach of children.
Dye Grey Hair Expensive (ยง300)
Available at the Spa
Your Sim will be offered a coffee while waiting. Along with a leaflet stating that "Home dyeing is killing the DaySpa industry!"
I hear they do a a really good job.
They get triggered at 1 a.m. and might take a while.
If you run the game on a weak CPU you might see some choppyness around that time.
The adult to elder birthday first turns your Sim into an ordinary elder. The mod will run an update within an hour or so.
There are some cheats you can type in via the cheat console. You should not need them but they might be useful.
The mod keeps data for Sims it has modified and will not delete it for 21 sim-days. This data can be force flushed by typing the above command
age fix $firstname $lastname
Tries to restore original hair and removes all age weathering for a Sim.
Try to remember to switch off the mod for Sims you export and before you uninstall the mod, so hopefully you will not need this.
"*" runs on all Sims, handle with great care.
The ConsortAgeTuning.package is optional. You only need it if you wish to modify it.
Name your XML file. The string gets displayed when the mod loads.
Percent of elder agespan when Sims reach EA-style grey hair
The following values determine the timing of the greying hair process:
Scalp and Beard Root color kFunctBase
Scalp and Beard Base color kFunctHighlight
Scalp and Beard Highlight color kFunctTips
Scalp and Beard Tips color kFunctEyebrowBody
Eyebrow and Bodyhair color
The format is x1, y1, x2, y2
The x axis represents the time between Adult birthday and the age determined by kWhitePointPercent as a scale of 0 to 1
the y axis represents the grey amount with 0=original hair color 1=grey hair color
The Tips of the head- and beard color will be unchanged (0) until they begin their greying process half way (.5) between adult birthday and the age defined by kwhitepoint.
The Tips will reach full greyness (1) at three quarters (.75) the way between adult birthday and kwhitepoint.
ยง Cost of dyeing hair for active Sims
Dyed hair will switch back to greying hair after this amount of days
The following values represent the CASP ResourceKey Instances of the Age Weathering the mod will apply.
Values must be Hex number format. CASPart should be of type AgeWeathering.
Change these values if you wish to link up custom age weathering or test your own creations.
The mod is using 3 custom age weatherings for each AM and AF, this stuff is included in the .package.
Age weatherings (wrinkles and liver spots) for elders point at EA CASPs.
Adult Male 1 kAMWeathering2
Adult Male 2 kAMWeathering3
Adult Male 3 kAFWeathering1
Adult Female 1 kAFWeathering2
Adult Female 2 kAFWeathering3
Adult Female 3 kEMWeathering1
Elder Male wrinkles kEWeathering2
Elder Liver Spots kEFWeathering1
Elder Female wrinkles
This is a pure scripting mod and should play nice with all other mods, custom content etc.
The mod most likely works with earlier patches than 1.63, but you're on your own there. I can't test or fix things in earlier patch versions.
Special <3 to Inge for the hair-counselling and coding suggestions!
-Most of the Simlogical crowd. You guys rock
-Peter and Inge for S3PE and S3.. the other one. SimsMX for his very readable code I could use as "inspiration", Twallan ofc for MasterController which made testing so much easier.

That's a totally awesome mod and it seems to work well in my game. I noticed two things:
1. For some CC hair that uses the highlight channel for shine, the greying looks weird and unnatural, with whole bands of the hair being white. Of course it's not a flaw of the mod itself, but this should be considered for players who use a lot of these "shine" retextured hair.
2. Switching the mod on for a sim (or all sims) seems to delete any hat/hat categorized hair. I had an elder sim with EA's "partially bald" hair and for the outerwear, the hair was set to EA's touque (winter hat). When the mod was switched, more wrinkles and age spots appeared on the sim (that seems normal) but the hair with touque in the outerwear section was replaced by a hatless hair (the same as the other categories). Hats also disappeared from all other Adults and Elder sims in town when the mod was switched on for all sims. Disabling the mod for a specific sim, or all sims (Clean up) do not restore the hats, nor does typing the fix age cheat. I'm not sure if it's an unavoidable side-effect or an unintended glitch, but thought I'd point it out
Edit: Weirdly, sims that had an "accessory hair" as their default hair (by that I mean hair found under the hat tab, but not especially with an actual hat)... well these sims did not get their everyday hair switched to something else, but the touque that was there as part of the winter outerwear was replaced by the everyday hair... it looks like what happens is the everyday hair is copied to every category when the mod is switched on... I'll investigate more.

Thanks for the report, I can confirm this glitch: The mod copies the everyday1 hairstyle to all outfit categories and indexes
This is not intended and I believe I was able to fix it. I'd like to test-play the new version a bit longer before releasing the fix.
@jeromycraig Yes, the mod dynamically checks for the lifespans you have selected. This is checked every time a Sim gets updated.
@MeiXin I blocked the mod for aliens, that's correct. I don't remember why... I think because some of them are like 750 days old, so they seem to have different lifespans. I don't know if real aliens get grey hair
@majca_90 AFAIK Sims don't dye their hair unless you tell them to
I changed the default alien hair color to black instead of the stock green color, so they all get grey hair when they age to elder. Other than that, the aliens age like normal sims. Is there any way I can enable it for aliens?
